Ceux qui font les révolutions à moitié n'ont fait que se creuser un tombeau (Those Who Make Revolution Halfway Dig Their Own Graves)

Feature Film Canada 2016

In 2012 Quebec was set ablaze by the "Maple Spring" student protest movement. A few years later, when the revolutionary fervor has died down, four young people who had taken part in it are seized by a growing sense of disillusionment towards their former companions in the struggle, and of alienation from society around them. Their noms de guerre are Ordine Nuovo, Tumulto, Giustizia and Klas Batalo, and they are also pervaded by feelings of rage and powerlessness for not having overthrown the status quo. These feelings of frustration find a natural expression in acts that include vandalism and, subsequently, actual terrorism. Their rebellion against the outside world, however, turns inwards because of their voluntary isolation, and this will have terrible consequences. Those Who Make Revolution Halfway Only Dig Their Own Graves is a dark, radical political drama which won awards in Berlin and in Toronto, starring Gabrielle Tremblay, a transgender actress.
